This is an example of someone who knows nothing about geopolitics or religion, who rose to fame by getting herself continuously arrested, much like Jake Lang. Just a couple of days ago, she was asking basic questions about Yemen, exposing her ignorance of the subject. 1. There is no doubt that the Yemeni people support Palestine, just as the wider Muslim world does. However, the leadership of many Muslim countries does not reflect the will of its people. Take Jordan, her country, for example. The Jordanian people overwhelmingly stand with Palestine, yet King Abdullah does not. In contrast, the leadership of Ansar Allah stood up and fought for Palestine while other Arab governments remained silent or actively supported Israel. Even the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), who are based in Riyadh, did nothing for Palestine despite being Yemeni. The leadership of AnsarAllah stood with Palestine, the other Yemeni leadership and Arab countries did not. 2. She claims that the Houthis promote racial supremacy. This is a direct attack on the Prophet (PBUH) and his family. The Blasphemy!!! Typical Wahhabi behaviour. Wasn’t she the same person calling for the death penalty for blasphemy? Apparently, it’s one rule for others and another for herself. Huge disrespect towards the Prophet’s family. The Houthis hold the position that descent from the Prophet (PBUH) is a condition for legitimate leadership. Ironically, I suspect her attack stems more from ignorance than deliberate deception. What she is ignorant of is that all four classical Sunni schools of jurisprudence hold the position that the Caliph should be from Quraysh, the Arab tribe of the Prophet (PBUH). This position is based on hadith such as: “The Imams are from Quraysh.” “This matter [of leadership] will remain with Quraysh.” Will she apply her own standards consistently and condemn this as Arab supremacy? Personally, I subscribe to neither the Shia nor the classical Sunni position on this question. I do not believe lineage determines someone’s merit or suitability for leadership. 3. The central point she conveniently ignores is that the Houthis were prepared to sacrifice the agreement they had secured in order to stand with the Palestinians. Yet, for her, Wahhabism takes precedence over Palestine. But what else can you expect from someone who remained silent while Saudi Arabia killed Yemeni civilians for years, and in recently for months, only to suddenly find her voice when the roles were reversed? She had little to say when Yemenis were the victims of Saudi attacks, but now rushes to defend her Wahhabi allies when Saudi Arabia finds itself on the receiving end. That tells you everything about where her priorities lie.
