Me speaking to a 6-year-old patient: Do you have any questions for me? Patient: Yeah! What's that on your head?
5-year-old patient: I like your little hat. Are those hair clips?
Me speaking to a 5-year-old patient: What did you do yesterday? Patient: I was making a flag. It was green, and black with a red triangle. It's for a country called Palestine. All the people there live in tents because their houses were destroyed by Israel. Me: Uh-huh, cool
Patient handing me a card for Jehova's Witness: Go to this website, we have good marriage advice.
Non-Jewish patient after finishing an appointment: Hashem bless you.
Me standing in the nursing station on Passover with my flower kippah. Filipino nurse: Is that your daughter's kippah? Me laughing awkwardly: No, it's mine. Filipino nurse: It looks like a girl kippah. Chag Sameach, my son is in yeshiva in Israel.
Patient after staring at my kippah: Are you from Ukraine?
Me walking down the hall thinking to myself during Pesach. Patient: Psst, I have Manischewitz Macaroons in my room if you want. Me: Thanks, but I brought my own.
