Hearing iDubbbz condemn his old Content Cop videos is fucking wild. Man was one of the few that had the balls to do whatever it took to call out bullshit on YouTube and now he apologizes for that?? I don't get it, man...
Just imagine what would happen if The Act Attorney and The Content Cop worked together to keep the streets of YouTube clean...
@TheActMan_YT I thought he was just apologizing for the racism and other horrible stuff he said
@TheActMan_YT Because he was being genuine about it. Have you uploaded a video apologizing for some of the stuff you said?
yeah idk, man. I really think this is missing the entire point of his video. Ian has grown and he's changed, and thankfully (unlike some creators (sneako, adin, etc)) in a very healthy manner. And through that growth, he was able to recognize the hurt those particular videos caused, not only to the targeted creators, but also to some of the people who viewed them, and the negative effects it was having on his very young, easily influenced audience, I myself being one of them. He still doesn't like most of the creators he targeted with the Content Cops, as he said, but the main problem of that style of content was his execution. His blatant racist remarks, his bigotry, his disregard for disenfranchised groups, etc. That, is what he is apologizing for. The execution is what led to years of harassment for the targeted creators and a very dangerous slope his young audience would find themselves sliding down. I was one of them. Very early on in my teenage years, I heard n***a for the first time through KingBach on Vine, and having not been taught the severity of that word, its variations, its roots, its true meaning, etc. I started using it myself as casually as he was in his content. And as the people around me in my very small, very white town and very bigoted online friend group didn't seem to care, my confidence and disregard continued to grow. So much so, in an argument against my older brother and his bi-racial wife, I used the line, "it's either all okay, or non of it's okay." Which, is just really, really fucking stupid, and it hurts to even think I tried to defend my use of the n word. And with that comfortability, during my middle school and high school years, I used a slew of other slurs as well. Which, looking back, it's really hard to still live with the fact that I was that person, and I was that careless for the people in my life, and the actions I committed and how much they would hurt them. And listen, I'm just one person. There was absolutely a sliver in time where I was being fed "anti SJW content," anti feminist/misogynistic content, etc, and I very much could have full fledged, fallen down that rabbit hole of hatred for people who didn't look like me. I'm sure this situation is unfortunately true for thousands, if not millions of other people from his audience, and sadly, some of them have gone down that path, and do live a life through a lens of hatred first, understanding second. Ian recognizes that and is trying to make up for the years of damage he has caused. So again, the core of what his content was based on wasn't necessarily bad, neither are the videos you have done within the same genre/style, but HIS execution and overall online personality has done so much more damage than any of us have the capacity to realize. ya feel?
@TheActMan_YT Anyone remember Me. Beasts OG content? 🤣
@TheActMan_YT I miss the old days when Filthy Frank and Idubbbz were in their prime. Please don't twist my words. I'm glad Frank is in a better place; I miss their comedy.
@TheActMan_YT Yea it’s about growth and evolving and becoming a better you. Most of those videos are pretty insensitive, not to mention just groupthink bullying. Times change man, people do too. Let him make things that he enjoys now with a fresh perspective.
