Never underestimate community horsepower... When we worked on the (ill-fated) @ubuntu phone strategy, we had no apps on the device. These **volunteers** community members built all the apps - weather, calculator, email, and more...in **just a few months**. Rock and roll 🤘

You might be excited by your brand new community...but it is going to suck. You won't get the engagement you want. You won't get the influx of people you want. But none of that matters...because you get DATA... ...and data is the gateway drug to good decisions and actions.

People get "system shock" when they join a community. "Who are these people and why do I care about their questions?" 🔊 Sound of digital door closing 🔊 Solve with (1) simple onboarding experience, (2) over-supply useful content, and (3) deliver personal engagement via DM.

In many cases failure can be inspiring. While the ill-fated @ubuntu Edge never hit our (frankly insane) $32m goal... ...the fact that 10 years ago we raised $12.7m was unbelievable. I credit the amazing Ubuntu community with this accomplishment. 🤘
