We made it to the end of that raggedy presidency. More than 400,000 Americans did not, including those executed by the Trump administration for no other reason than their need to be as cruel was possible. I am so happy that it’s over. I am so deeply sad that it ever happened.

Especially white Americans don’t like to hear it, but we got to the “coup” stage of fascism because we didn’t impeach at the concentration camps, cages, family separations, beatings, gassing, disappearances. Fascism’s a pattern of escalation and nobody tried to really break it

Weird that the cops lost all their zipties the same day that a massive mob of white supremacists attempted to stage a coup.

Wow it’s almost like police forces in the US exist primarily to enforce the race/class divide & not actually to protect public safety

Here's a harrowing fact: COVID has killed more US prisoners in 9 months than the death penalty has in over 50 years. sentencing.typepad.com/sentencing_law…

You know, I won't pretend that I'm an expert at telling, at a glance, what groups someone belongs to. But this was surprising. x.com/DeanBrowningPA

Please let the fact that this is going to end up being close disabuse us of the notion that Trump was a fluke or that he doesn't represent a real, deep seated throughline in America and American ideology. That requires real work to address, work way beyond voting.
