⚪️💥 Real Madrid win El Clásico with Mbappé brace!
Big away win against Barcelona as Mbappé reaches 8 goals in 7 Clásicos, 14 goals in 11 games against Barça 👑🇫🇷
Who’s been your Man of the Match?
@Keepitonthedeck The best players between the lines do not run into space, they hide. Paz positions himself on the blind side of the nearest midfielder and only shows for the ball as it starts moving. How young do you start drilling blind-side positioning?
@TheAthleticFC Arteta is right, but this is not a finishing problem, it is an arrival problem. Saka starts so wide that when the ball reaches the box he is standing still at the penalty spot. Does he get that without giving up his role creating from wide?
@TheAthleticFC@Walid_4 Coaches are always telling young players to move it faster, but that extra touch is a weapon. It drags the defender's weight one step too far and opens the passing lane he thought he closed. How do you teach players to know when the extra touch is on?
@touchtightcoach Everyone obsesses over the run, but the bounce pass decides this drill. The wrong weight or angle forces the runner to check his stride and the window closes. What is your cue for the second man to sell the defender before laying it off?
@TheCoachesZone Breakout rondos are the bridge between possession and transition. The trap everyone misses is the set pass count. It forces the outside group to stop hiding behind easy passes and scan for the moment to break. Is the cue for the break a steal or the completed pass target?
@touchtightcoach The part most teams get wrong is switching before the press is committed. You have to drag the near-side block into the trap first. Then the weak-side player must stay wide and high with hips open to play forward. Is your trigger the moment the defender steps out?
@touchtightcoach Most coaches run rondos for possession and forget the moment it flips. The 'react quickly to losing possession' point is the one that actually wins matches. Do you freeze it when the press breaks down, or do you let it run and coach the scramble?
@ChampionsLeague That is not pretty football, it is positional discipline doing the work. Every pass arrives in a pocket and the runner is already moving before the ball turns. How much of your training is built around receiving on the half turn in space versus standing still waiting for it?
@FabrizioRomano That is elite game management before the game even starts. Flick knows Madrid noise pulls focus, so he kills it in one line and points every eye at Galatasaray. How many youth coaches let outside noise reach their players instead of guarding the group like this?
@TheCoachesZone The half space cross is the most dangerous ball in the game because the striker attacks it across the defender's blind side. Most youth teams never drill this timing. How would you progress it, add a recovering defender or a live fullback?
@footballdna_ I actually think reaching their potential is exactly how superstars get made, just not by accident. Kompany's real trick is making the standard higher than comfort so players chase it themselves. What is one thing you do daily to keep that bar raised without burning kids out?
@brfootball People remember the speed, I remember the movement. Hat tricks like that are decided before the pass is played, by the run that separates from the marker. Which do you train more with your wingers, the run or the finish?
@ChampionsLeague This is a masterclass in two ways to defend as a six. Busquets won it by reading the lane before the pass, Kante by hunting the ball carrier and covering two spots at once. Young sixes usually only copy one. Which profile do you teach first, the reader or the hunter?
@touchtightcoach Most players receive the switch blind, so it dies as a hopeful punt. The side-on shape with an across-the-body first touch is what keeps the weak-side lane actually on. Do you have your players scanning before the ball leaves the passer's foot, or as it travels?
@ground_guru@BristolCity Smart football. Set pieces are the great equalizer, a well drilled corner routine is worth as much as any signing over a season. I train young players to treat dead balls like open play chances, same focus, same detail. What is the first set piece routine you would install?
@FabrizioRomano This is elite honesty from Iraola. Most managers hide behind the red card, but he admits City were better after it. As a coach I love the two games framing, the plan you train all week dies the moment you go down to ten. What adjustment would you have made at the red card?
