@IHateNYT I'm also tired of the right-wing handwringing as if violent actions and sentiments are aberrations in an otherwise nonviolent ecosystem. So many of our systems are predicated on systemic and direct forms of violence, often carried out against the most marginalized and helpless.

A lot of people think this was abuse, but the OP apparently does not. I can see how it might be abusive if these were the conditions all day, every day: children do need to be loud sometimes. It's helpful to grow up learning that this isn't an unlimited right, though
