One way to think about US policy right now is that we've made a decision that new battery plants and EV factories and semiconductor fabs are higher priority than more fast casual restaurants. If we were China, we'd say that directly. But we don't say it out loud here.
@TheStalwart I don't understand why it would ever be a "priority" to open more fast-casual resturants.
@TheStalwart This is well stated. The problem is exacerbated in areas like my home state of Utah where Californias are migrating in high numbers and filling up new residential communities. The retail services that typically follow those rooftops are struggling to get open.
