1 year ago I started the biggest adventure of my life. Just 24 years old, I gave up my life in London, everything familiar with just a suitcase (and my dog!) to go see something extraordinary! 🔥 After travelling for 2 and a half days, I arrived somewhere I knew little about, with only instinct to navigate my way. In the middle of the night, I pitched up a tent and dreamed I could survive 🏕️🌌 Then the next morning, with no sleep, I watched the sunrise and knew where I needed to be 🚀🌅 Then it began. I reached out to strangers with one thing in common, we were all in one place at one time, standing under the open sky, on one day that humanity had dared to dream could happen. The day humanity would begin to reach beyond the the confines of our Earth and reach for the stars 🚀💫 For a remarkable time, in thrill of discovery, we shared the wonder of history happening. Together. It was just a dream. To find a new home for our civilisation and better our own, and there hours before the first Starship launch, we learned it could happen ☺️ For us to all arrive in the wild and find each other, we had to dream, we had to adventure and we had to go beyond, for one another, to bring us all together. Most importantly when we find ourselves doing something new, we find out our home belongs to one another, to the people who arrive to transcend the confines of their places of origin to meet new friends and share memories that will last a lifetime ✨ That’s why we are going further than we’ve ever gone before. That’s what Starship is for, to start our journey across the stars for all people, to do everything to make the tomorrows happen today, always. That’s why I went and did the most radical thing I could, because I knew that everything is possible and we’ll find ourselves as a species to make the journey there on Mars and beyond 🌠 My experiences from the first Starship launch have taught me that the real adventure for our whole species starts here, from Starbase and we’re no longer going to think we were ever divided again when we appreciate what happens when we come together like this forever 🚀🫶 Starship Flight 1, Starbase, Texas 🇺🇸 1) 📸 16th April 2023 | Stephen Shard 2) 📸 16th April 2023 | Stephen Shard 3) 📸 16th April 2023 | @GingerMan512 4) 📸 16th April 2023 | Stephen Shard #SpaceX #Starship #Starbase #GatewayToMars #BocaChicaToMars

That's beautiful, Stephen. Starship is more than just a really big rocket. It's dreams turned real. It's the triumph of the human spirit. I love how Elon's vision and will created it. I love the amazing future it portends. I love the worldwide community that's grown up around it, united in a shared vision. That's why I love it so much.
