Alex de Minaur says he’s sad because he doesn’t want Nadal to stop playing, Rafa’s values are the ideals for everyone to try to copy from a young age Alex: “Obviously, like the entire tennis world, a little sad because nobody wants Rafa to stop playing…” “What does Rafa mean for your career?” Alex: “Like every tennis player, and especially of my generation, the values that Rafa has had on the court have been the ideals, the ones that they tell you to copy from a very young age: the attitude he has in each match, the mental strength, the determination, it's something we've all seen and the plan is to be as close to him as possible, which is never easy. He is special in my life and in my career, as well as in the world of tennis.” Source: puntodebreak.com/2024/04/17/min…
@TheTennisLetter I watched a compilation of Rafa at 2008 Roland Garros - the apotheosis of his tennis on clay. I’ve never ever seen a tennis played dominate like he did then.
@TheTennisLetter Rafa will still touch many through the retelling of his Tennis career as well as touching tennis lives through his Tennis Academy and other business dealings. His long term relationship and now a father speaks volumes as well. He is well prepared for tennis to end.
@TheTennisLetter The same de minaur who once spoke so ill of Djokovic?
@TheTennisLetter Translation: we all want Rafa to quit but we know we can't say it bc the tennis media will attack with malice.
@TheTennisLetter De Minaur played well today. One step at a time for Rafa
