For recovering people pleasers it’s important to understand we will disappoint people— for various reasons. Adults are fully capable of being disappointed. Our role has never been to please everyone.
@Theholisticpsyc I am finding your threads so helpful. I am explaining myself to people much less now and using a simple 'no'. Thank you.
@Theholisticpsyc People pleasing habits is detrimental and it's not the same as being mean or unkind. However, it's saying yes to others at the cost of your own peace. More like a self abandonment for others.
@Theholisticpsyc This seems to be a prerequisite: How do you find out your own needs? My mind usually goes blank while being around others. Thanks
@Theholisticpsyc But what is the root of disappointment? Expectation. Who created the anticipation in the first place? The receptor. Disappointment is always the responsibility of the disappointed. No one can control your actions; we are sovereign entities. + Expectation = + disillusion.
