Also. Losing gracefully does not require one to jump for joy at the announcement of someone else’s name being called when you wanted it to be yours. Once again, the world wants to police a Black woman’s (graceful) emotion when all you need to do is focus on yourselves. #Oscar
@TherealCANDIACE Nope I don’t agree Candice. Grace is not pouting cuz u didn’t win Its classless and tasteless to act like she did
@TherealCANDIACE Love you girl but I see no color there just a bitter sore loser. Please stop the race card.
@TherealCANDIACE Jaime Lee Curtis deserved that Oscar..She's a Legend way before Angela Bassett got Famous..The Academy Awards Failed us 30 years ago when Angela Bassett should've won for Tina ...Race wasn't the issue
@TherealCANDIACE Not everything is about skin color like u want it to be. In the past other celebrities have been targeted for there reactions too and they are white actors. Stop putting your issues over skin color onto the world. You have a hateful heart
@TherealCANDIACE You said it. I didn't watch the Oscars but I did see the reaction and the yt woman in the pic beneath Ms. Bassett was not smiling either, but no one's policing her. They better leave the queen alone.
@TherealCANDIACE I fully supported her not having a reaction nor standing nor clapping. FULLY SUPPORTED.
@TherealCANDIACE I understand the disappointment, but she was 1 of 10 actors/actresses recognized this year in a supporting role with a coveted Oscar nomination out of nearly 12,000 working actors in the US and even more who can’t find work. I hardly classify her as being snubbed or overlooked.
@TherealCANDIACE I’m done with the @oscars ! This was the ultimate snub. They lost all credibility, what little was left!
@TherealCANDIACE @TherealCANDIACE, thank you. Thank you for putting this well. We don’t know what Angela Bassett was thinking and feeling in that moment last night, and she doesn’t owe anyone an explanation.
@TherealCANDIACE Exactly! She was probably surprised and hurt. She owes us nothing.
