Meanwhile, we're getting trashed by chasers because we chose to listen to the multiple chasers that were telling us about a tornado on the ground. In the past we've been trashed for not listening which causes them to never report to us again. #cantwin

@TimHalbach The NWS certainly needs a list of well established credible chasers from which to take reports from.
@TimHalbach You all are doing great work Tim, that's why I keep it to live streaming and let the local offices know (I didn't end up in your CWA during the event) I am live and let them decide if what they're seeing is worth warning on. Improper reporting hurt us all.
@TimHalbach Hi Tim, being a trained storm spotter by the NWS....does my number go into a nationwide database? I signed up under the Central Illinois office, but would my spotter # be recognized by other offices in the region as well? Thanks.
@TimHalbach Yeah I’m not here to single any chaser out but I had up one feed in particular stating multiple times “tornado on the ground” which was clearly not visible. I have to imagine excitement and emotions from last previous events had an effect.
@TimHalbach Jimmy 5th grader using mPing thinks he saw a tornado in the sky, but it was just a cloud.
@TimHalbach Sorry that was such a tough situation, Tim. I think you did an incredible job. I can’t imagine running a desk when radar says it’s elevated but reports of tornadoes flooding in. So much pressure. Hopefully that can be decreased somehow as chasing popularity rockets
@TimHalbach You need the blacklist of chasers to ignore. It's brutal, sorry you have to deal with all of this.
