To the Americans: I've travelled all over the world. I've familiarized myself with many places, and met many people. And I'm a Canadian, although I’m privileged to reside once again in the States. And here's something I've noticed, and it’s a key element of America's continuing greatness: You bloody Americans value success, and you believe in its existence. This is something that doesn't really happen anywhere else in the world. Even in other free democracies—the United Kingdom; Finland, Sweden, and Norway; Australia, New Zealand and Canada; Germany, France, and the Netherlands (great countries all)—a counterproductive cynicism too often reigns. Success is equated with exploitation. Ambition is looked upon with contempt. This happens sometimes in the United States too—particularly among the miserable progressives, who confuse their resentment, ingratitude and unearned skepticism with wisdom. But in your great country, by and large, striving is admired and success celebrated. This means that more people strive and succeed in the US than anywhere else. And it's increasingly obvious. You remain stunningly more innovative and productive than any people anywhere else on the planet. And so I say, as all should who are fortunate enough to live in the western world, let alone America: Thank God for the United States. Thank God for the wisdom of its founders. Thank God for its faith in the free market and in the natural rights of man. Happy birthday, you damn Yankees and Southerners. Long may your admirable country dominate the world. Long may your freedom and hope provide an example to those suffering everywhere at the hands of their malevolent states. May your two and a half centuries of unparallelled success be just the beginning. Your country is the light of the world, and the city on the hill. Thank God for the USA. Happy 250th. Dr. Jordan B. Peterson

@heyshrutimishra He is right on!

This is why smart people rarely build businesses Jensen Huang stood in front of a room of Stanford graduates and told them he hopes they suffer. He wasn't being cruel. He was being precise. His argument: people with very high expectations have very low resilience. And resilience, not intelligence, is what decides who actually makes it. A Stanford grad has spent their whole life as the smartest person in the room. They've rarely been tested by real failure. So when something finally breaks, they break with it. Then he said the line every founder should sit with: "Greatness is not intelligence. Greatness comes from character. And character isn't formed out of smart people, it's formed out of people who suffered." He would know. At nine, Huang was scrubbing toilets at a Kentucky boarding school his family hadn't realized was a reform school. As a teenager he bussed tables at Denny's. In 1993 he started NVIDIA in a Denny's booth, and nearly lost it more than once in the years that followed. The character was built decades before the valuation showed up. This is why he uses the words "pain and suffering" inside NVIDIA with what he calls great glee. He isn't trying to shield his best people from the hard part. He's trying to give it to them on purpose. Talent gets you into the room. The people who stay are the ones who were broken once and learned they could rebuild.

Interesting…baffling…comforting…

I'm the director of OCIA for my parish, and as such my name, email, and phone number appear in the bulletin, which appears online. Quite frequently, some spammer scrapes the information, then spoofs being my priest (who I have known personally for 20+ years)... and sometimes... I string them along...

The key to saving the next generation isn't more government programs—it's engaged parents. We must step up, make the necessary sacrifices, and be fully present in our children's lives. It’s time to rebuild Michigan on the foundation of strong families. #MIGov #ParentalRights #Michigan

@JeremyDBoreing @JackJoh13175005 Actually it is very good !!

🗝️ THE KEY STILL TURNS — New Release 🗝️ From the beginning, Peter had primacy. And the Church knew it. Before emperors. Before medieval debates. Before East and West were torn apart. Scripture shows it. The ante-Nicene Fathers name it. The councils rely on it. Ignatius calls Rome the Church that presides. Irenaeus says all churches must agree with her. Chalcedon stands and declares: 🗝️ “Peter has spoken — through Leo’s voice.” 🗝️ This isn’t about domination. It’s about unity preserved. The East didn’t disappear. It didn’t get erased. Its rites, theology, and spiritual inheritance endured — in communion with Rome. Unity never meant uniformity. It never did. It meant communion. 🗝️🎵 THE KEY STILL TURNS A catechetical song on Petrine primacy, councils, and the unity Christ prayed for. 🔗 Listen / Watch / Follow 🌐 Website 👉 petersbarquemusic.com ▶️ YouTube 👉 youtube.com/@peters-barque ▶️ Rumble 👉 rumble.com/c/c-7821522 🐦 X · 📸 Instagram · 🎵 TikTok · 📘 Facebook 👉 @petersbarque 🗝️ Just a reminder: I’m not a professional musician — I’m a catechist using music as a teaching tool. Stop repeating ex-youth-group apologetics. Open the Catechism. Everything you think we “added” is in there… and it’s older than your denomination. The Creed. The Sacraments. The Moral Life. Prayer. The whole map of Christianity… in four parts. If ignorance is bliss, some folks online are ecclesially ecstatic. Fix that. Read your Catechism. 😎✝️ @petersbarque

🔥 NEW SONG: The Immaculate Conception: Fitting Not Forced Feast of the Immaculate Conception Peter’s Barque Two ways to save someone from a pit. That’s it. That’s the whole doctrine people tie themselves in knots avoiding. You can save someone after they fall — that’s us. Every sinner Christ drags back to life with grace. Or you can save someone by preventing the fall entirely — that’s what He does for His mother. Same Savior. Same grace. Different application. Perfect symmetry. The New Eve doesn’t start broken. The New Ark doesn’t carry the Word with spiritual rot. Genesis 3:15 says “enmity,” which means total separation, not “Satan gets partial custody.” Revelation 12 calls her the mother of all who keep God’s commandments. Gabriel greets her not with a name, but with a title meaning “graced completely.” And none of this dents monotheism — the people who died defending the One God didn’t suddenly forget theology in the first century. This track hits. The visuals hit harder. And the next ones are coming fast. Peter’s Barque is picking up speed. 🔗 LISTEN & FOLLOW Spotify: open.spotify.com/artist/07uvm7S… Apple Music: music.apple.com/us/artist/pete… IG: instagram.com/petersbarque X: x.com/petersbarque FB: facebook.com/petersbarque TikTok: tiktok.com/@petersbarque

Amid all the violence against women on public transportation, it needs to be said again - Daniel Penny is a national hero. He undoubtedly saved lives that day. Sadly, the hell he was put through is the reason so few men will act when necessary.

I want country music to go back to this ...

Proof that your local diocesan parish doesn’t need to have terrible cringe “Table of Plenty” and Dan Schutte’s greatest hits as liturgical music in the program…
