“All I ever wanted to do was be accepted” -Ryan Clark in tears on @thepivot speaking of his ESPN firing. Powerful, powerful moment.

Ryan Clark is pouring his heart out on @thepivot right now. “For 3 years we never shied away from any topic. We did this year… I couldn’t be too black. What makes me sad is, in even trying adjust to be more of what certain people wanted, they still fired me.”

Hardest part about being raised like this is watching the family fall apart as your grandparents pass away

Rich Paul tells Max Kellerman he tells these AAU kids who are scoring 40 pts & dominating ball if maxing NIL earnings is your goal then, cool. For generational wealth, study Tobias Harris plays without ball, embraces role. 450 NBA players, only 30 are 1s rest are role players.

Draymond Green says basketball is no longer a poor kid's game: “It's a rich kid's game” “I didn't learn how to do a proper individual workout till I got to college. Growing up I'm going to hoop. Where's the nearest run. Drop me off, I'll play all day. That's what we did. We hooped all day. I think there's a huge benefit to that because you just learn to see the game” “It's different when somebody just putting you in a position to tell you to do this move. How do you use your creativity? How do you learn if somebody just say do this? How do you know what your game is if you never tap into it and just figure it out” “I think there's a time and place for a trainer and I think with where the game has gone, you need those resources in order to be successful” “I feel like basketball used to be a poor man's game. Poor kids played it. We were poor. We had nothing and it was our way out. Basketball is not a poor kid's game no more. Basketball is a rich kid game” “The days of seeing LeBron James from Akron, Ohio, from a single mom, those days are numbered. Because if you don't have the resources these days, you can't make it. But that’s also why you don't see as great basketball as you did before, because there's no imagination” “Everybody's doing the same thing, playing the same way. I think a lot of that is due sometimes to having trainers. You just become a carbon copy of somebody else the trainer created”

Cam Newton left Yung Miami SPEECHLESS after giving her a brutal reality check about how much harder a man’s life is compared to a woman’s, explaining that everyone expects a man to protect & provide and no one feels bad for a broke man 😮👀 “Society doesn’t feel sorry for the man. Society can feel sorry for a woman… I got 9 kids, you think they care about if I feel good or not?… we gotta compartmentalize naturally because nobody cares.”

Bro to Bro : when you go out with your friends, take pictures together, take pictures of you eating & drinking. One day those memories will be the only thing you’ll have left. Life is short , enjoy your life without internet restrictions

I'm convinced @DukeWBB Coach Kara Lawson is one of the best leaders in sports. This clip on urgency, growth not being linear, and the idea that there is no finish line is superb: 🥱 Need It > Want It. The people who win aren’t always the most gifted, they’re the ones who refuse to look away from what’s required RIGHT NOW. They stay present with the hard, the boring, and the uncomfortable, and they attack anyway. Wanting shows up when it’s convenient; needing shows up when it costs you something. 📈📉 Growth isn’t a straight line. There will be peaks that tempt your ego and valleys that test your belief. Real leadership is keeping your urgency and sharpness intact through all of it. Trusting that consistency is what will carry you through. Don't let your own impatience with stagnancy take your spirit. 🏁 There is no finish line where you finally get to coast, only new levels that ask more of you. Better is a direction, not a destination. The “ceiling” you feel is often just an imaginary story you’ve told yourself about what’s possible. Growth asks for the endurance to keep going and the humility to treat every day, every season, every year as another chance to get better. Bring urgency to the way you show up every day. Don't ever give up on your own growth. 🌱

“Please don’t ever judge me for wins and losses that’s not who I am as a coach. Relationships- you want it for them.” Championships change careers. Relationships change lives. Athletes. Coaches. Don’t just chase wins. Change people. That’s the real legacy. 🎥@glenn_kinley

“Banners hang in gyms and rings collect dust. But who you become and who you impact you get to keep forever,” Cori Close Your character defines winning.

Overprotected kids become unprepared adults. Dawn Staley nailed it.🔥 You can’t shelter your child from every hard moment and then expect them to handle adversity when it counts. Hard is the lesson. Watch. Share. Bookmark.
