1/6: Just dropped a new episode of Web3 with Sam Kamani. I spoke with David Lucatch from @nGRND_io about tokenizing gold without ever mining it. Here is what I learned. 🧵

The next generation of blockchain innovation may come from making decentralized systems more intelligent. That’s the idea I want to explore with @GenLayer. Airdrop registration complete ✅ Now looking forward to the next milestones, new ideas, and opportunities to contribute.

Most leaderboards track one thing: how much you locked up. The nGRND Gold Protocol adds a second column for what you actually did. It's a staking and rewards system. First, you stake NGRND, its digital token. Generally, staking more can raise your tier, called your Reward Level. Then activity counts too: games, learning, community. Taking part can shape your weighting and potential access to rewards. Two columns now. What you locked. What you did. Participate. Earn. Get rewarded. nGRND Inc. hit 288,000 accounts and 5.7 million completed tasks since its August launch. Chairman David Lucatch says the company runs two parts: one that manages real in-ground gold, one that rewards people for taking part in the network. One token, eight different ways to use it. The nGRND Gold Protocol runs on NGRND, a utility token, and splits its rewards system into eight Participation Streams. People stake NGRND, then join activities to participate in the rewards system. Someone who likes games can take part in a different way than someone into learning or community advocacy. The idea is simple: people have different interests and abilities, so the entry points differ. Every new activity is one more possible use for that one token. Participate. Earn. Get rewarded. 3,551,789 tasks completed since August 6. That's the number behind the nGRND Gold Protocol, where people stake a digital token and earn points for micro-tasks. The Protocol has eight Participation Streams: Governance, Impact, Play, Learn, Advocate, Refer, Wellbeing and Agents. Staking means locking up a token to take part. Activities like Learn and Play earn Reward Points and build a participation history. Small actions like these, stacked up across 254,870 DSBT holders, make that 3.5 million total — a Staking & Rewards Ecosystem built one micro-task at a time. Participate. Earn. Get rewarded. Eight ways to use a staked token, and only one of them is watching the balance. The nGRND Gold Protocol lets you stake and then take part. The streams are Play, Learn, Governance, Impact, Advocate, Refer, Wellbeing and Agents. Taking part can earn Reward Points and build a participation history. Staking used to mean a locked balance. Now it comes with eight things to do. Participate. Earn. Get rewarded. Holding the NGRND token does not make you an owner of gold. Holding it does not itself establish ownership of a specified amount of the gold linked to the nGRND Gold Protocol. The nGRND Group plans two tokens and says they must stay clearly separate. NGRND powers the Staking & Rewards Ecosystem. You stake tokens, then take part through streams like Play and Learn to earn Reward Points. A separate, future nGRND Gold Token is intended for gold. Two tokens. Two jobs. More than 248,000 users have joined the nGRND Gold Protocol's Staking & Rewards Ecosystem, and almost 90% have already claimed a Dynamic Soulbound Token. That token is a non-transferable digital passport. It tracks what users do across the partner network: playing games, making predictions, finishing tasks. Each activity generates Reward Points. Users have completed over 2.8 million micro-tasks so far. Founder David Lucatch calls the usual setup the holder trap: people buy a token, then sit around waiting. This model puts participation first. Participate. Earn. Get rewarded. 2.8 million micro-tasks have been completed by users on the nGRND Gold Protocol. That's a football guess, a quick game, a task. Each one counted. A digital token (the DSBT) tracks these activities across the partner network and turns them into Reward Points. Users can then stake what they've earned. Their Reward Level and points set their share of the staking reward pool, paid out in stablecoins. The count so far: over 2.8 million micro-tasks. Participate. Earn. Get rewarded.
