@hen10freeman My husbands self esteem took a massive dive since his speech loss so I can understand ❤️ its been 6yrs for him so has slowly learned to cope with it although some days are harder x
@ToniHepburn85 I’m glad (though I wish it wasn’t why) you understand. I don’t think, even the most thoughtful people, can until they experience it either them or a loved one. It’s self esteem you’re right, I’m a naturally confident person so it’s weird! It’s the quick chat / ease I miss. X
@hen10freeman It's a total life change from everything you're used to and not many people can really understand unfortunately. My husband is like you, confident and outgoing so this life change is massive. Sounds naff, but do u have local support even groups etc? X
@ToniHepburn85 Can totally understand that. Even with devices and understanding people around us. I have a lot of friends & know disabled people (through sport) but no one non-v, my condition doesn’t have any support as I’m a freak of nature 😂 I’m not one for support groups, prefer friends x
@hen10freeman My husbands not one for support groups so you're not alone there 😂 It's really hard not being able to have a chat with your friends like others can, and it's frustrating too. I wish there was more support though, its very isolating
@ToniHepburn85 They’re personal taste 😂 I can say no thanks as there’s not one for me anyway 🤣 You’re exactly right. I’m fortunate to have facial expression and hand movement (I used to have to use eye gaze) so I get that I’ve got more fortunate. Can only do our best though x
