I've written for @ConHome on the recent National Conservatism Conference debacle. Some ECHR advocates were apparently undisturbed by a breach of freedom of expression and assembly: conservativehome.com/2024/04/18/ton…
@ConHome Silly below the line comment. The article makes two main points: 1) the decision by the mayor was wrong and 2) Several ECHR advocates were either silent about the issue or appeared to defend the decision - and that's evidenced in the article.
@TonyDowson5 @ConHome We should substitute "right-wing" with "anti-left".
@TonyDowson5 @ConHome " .. the incident exposes a disturbing attitude towards freedom of expression and assembly." I'd say it proves that the left will not relent until it shuts down all speech that rejects their false narrative and totalitarian aspirations.
@TonyDowson5 @ConHome A doctrinaire attachment to freedom of speech, assembly, etc does not serve the right. We only ever have it on our enemies’ terms, and by fetishising it, we ensure that they are always better armed.
@TonyDowson5 @ConHome I was going to ask which side of the fence Ms Simor KC had come down on but you've answered that in the article.
