Most patients w/ iron deficiency anemia do not require transfusion. If a decision is made to transfuse a patient with symptoms of inadequate o2 delivery, a single unit is usually sufficient & further increases in Hb concentration can be achieved with iron. hospital.blood.co.uk/patient-servic…
