In Illinois, we've seen that driver's license suspension... improves public safety? ❌ increases with debt collection? ❌ increases compliance? ❌ Starting July 1, Illinois will no longer suspend licenses for unpaid tickets. It's time to do the same on the federal level!

In 2017, CPD issued 573,627 parking & compliance tickets for the top 10 non-moving violations - 35% of all city-issued parking tickets. If it takes 10 mins to issue & process a ticket, that's 95,600 hrs of police time per year, or 48 full-time equivalent positions #TransitTuesday

A late $100 ticket can quickly double to $200 and more, as the fees add up. These tickets are unaffordable for most, and devastating for drivers at the poverty line. It's time for Chicago to choose to stop the doubling of tickets! #TransitTuesday
