Personally, I hate it. I turned it off as soon as it appeared. If I already speak the language, I'd like to read the original. If I'm learning the language, I'd like to at least TRY to read it before translating it.

It does look like this is a book written in ancient Egyptian. As noted in the book's footnotes, substituting “gooseberries” for “fruit” was necessary due to the absence of certain plants in ancient Egypt so it's not without it's challenges.

@moe_laboratory It's easy to remember once you see it. I had trouble to remember / separate these Kanji's myself, but: Birds "eyes" are visible, but Crows eyes are not (black on black). The extra line inside the box is the eyes of a bird とり鳥, while they're gone on the crow Kanji.
