I've seen the narrative that Tekken 8 is random and anyone can win, because of heat or whatever, but i'm looking at the top 24 of this 1,200+ entrant tournament, and I recognize almost everyone from Tekken 7 top 8s i'd watch. How'd they all get there if it's a random game?

Kinda disappointed that Tremor hasn't been used much since MKX. Not in 11 at all and just a poorly made kameo(my opinion, he has 9 moves and people use 1) in MK1. Hopefully he gets some more love in the future.

Who is winning the NA vs EU team battle for Mortal Kombat 1 with all of the best players? I honestly think it's a toss up these days, EU is stronger than it's ever been.
It seems like most of the community agrees Havik is bottom 1, so how should he be buffed in your opinion? I think more plus frames on d4 and a faster armored move is a good start. It would be cool to see him buffed with new moves like others tho.

I had a breakdown after an anxiety attack at a party after my first year of college. I realized a new MK game came out (mk9) and bought that and started playing that for break. I was looking up combos and stumbled upon tournament vids from PDP etc Yeah that's p much it for me.

@TweedyMK Yeah I'm with you. Can't do metroidvanias. I like that map design in a slow horror game. But when the action is fast I don't have the patience for those maps.

There was a thread on SRK for NJ players that I posted in, found out there was a local going on about 15 minutes from where I grew up. Over there I met @DarthArma and @KDZaster, not knowing I would still be in touch with these guys 15 years later.
Sometime either before or after that, my friend introduced me to GGPO, which was basically what Fightcade is now, and I played 3s and ST on there doing nothing but jump roundhouse into roundhouse as the only combo I knew lol. SF4 came out a few months later and I found SRK

@TweedyMK MK11 reveal trailer. The hype was unmatched at the time, and I told myself that I would learn the game no matter what. That's where I discovered my love for fighting games.
@TweedyMK Dang :( guess I've been pretty lucky with stability, the only time it's bad for me is when I play matches against consoles on wifi but wired connections have been pretty stable. I wonder if it has to do with PC peeps not having it installed on their SSD? 🤔

@TweedyMK It’s maddening! I have a more than capable PC, and I optimize anyway. I’m wired directly to gigabit fiber. Benchmark is golden, but whenever I match with console (wired only) ping spikes an additional 50-70ms, with my opponent teleporting all across the screen.
@Yozomitsu said he's gonna play GB competitively and I couldn't let him get a one up on me because we've always been close in everything. And here we are today 😭😭

always casually had mk but DBFZ easily. Being shit at DBFZ pushed me to be better at the game and honestly learn a lot of patience when learning new things in general. DBFZ first world tour I watched every single match I could find I was interested
