The real takeaway here is that nobody uses Spotify to listen to podcasts. Only 12 shows with over 1m followers and “follower” just means they hit a button that says they like the show, not that they actively listen; “follow” doesn’t work like every other app’s subscribe function.

@TylerMahanCoe As a podcast platform, Spotify really sucks.
@TylerMahanCoe Unrelated to this graphic a lot of Spotify Music and Talk podcasts got fucked a few weeks ago. A lot of people are still trying to figure out how to continue their podcast elsewhere reddit.com/r/CountryMusic…
@TylerMahanCoe I use Spotify for podcasts but also don't use the follow button because truly it doesn't change anything, doesn't alert of new releases or anything. I think I even follow YFBS and always have to check if there's a new episode
@TylerMahanCoe I’m a nobody who uses Spotify to listen to podcasts. The takeaway here for me is that discerning listeners with above-average intelligence and rugged good looks use Spotify.
@TylerMahanCoe I went from watching damn near every Rogan to only watching occasionally when he went to spotify because of how annoying the UI is. Since he's back to youtube I've seen three or four already. Sound quality isn't that good on Spotify either, I had better luck with Amazon music
