This is exactly my point. Anything less than Heisman level performance for Arch = Arch sucks in most people’s minds. 14 TD’s and 3 INT’s through 4 games is actually pretty solid but because Arch isn’t Peyton, Texas has fallen from #1 to #9. Makes no sense.

October 3, 2024: Sam Houston goes on the road and beats UTEP, 41-21. But for some reason Arch’s rough performance in Game 3 against UTEP matters much more than his lights-out, excellent performance in Game 4 against Sam Houston. The Arch Haters are a curious bunch.

When you are arguing with Arch Haters, this is a major premise they expect you to work under: His excellent performance against one C-USA team is completely irrelevant, but his performance against another C-USA team is indisputable evidence that he’s a mediocre quarterback.

This is one of the weakest narratives out there. The Texas fans were exasperated with OL penalties, conservative playcalling in a game that Sark knew he was going to win, and just general lethargic performance by UT. Nobody was directly booing Arch.

Texas is the only program in the country to go to back-to-back CFP semifinals. Are people forgetting that this is one of the most complete programs in the country with the #1 defense in the country? The ONLY reason Texas is getting punished in rankings is because of Arch slander.

Florida fans are already referring to next week’s Texas game as a “funeral” for Billy Napier. If Texas jumps on them early, they will likely lay down and quit. Huge opportunity for Sark to make a statement to the country — he needs to pull out the 2023 B12 Championship playbook.

Penn State loses to every single good team they play. As a reminder, the two teams they beat to reach the CFP semifinals last year were SMU and Boise State. SMU and Boise State. Until Penn State beats a Top 10 team, they should be nowhere near the Top 10. It’s just ridiculous.

There’s a huge discrepancy in the AP poll when it comes to Alabama and FSU. If you believe Alabama is legitimate, you have to put FSU so much higher than #18. If you think FSU isn’t actually that good, there’s no reason Alabama should be in the Top 10. Huge mismatch there.

I understand that Texas doesn’t have any quality wins yet and their ranking is going to be impaired until they put some on the board. But there is absolutely no good reason for Penn State to be ranked higher than Texas. None at all. Manning has been MUCH better than Allar.

Texas fans need to shake off any bad feelings that came out of UTEP a few weeks ago and be a little bit more brash. Have pride in how good the Longhorns are. They have the best defense in the country. The disrespect I’m seeing is outrageous — ballots where Texas isn’t Top 10??
