Ingomar won the Gold bracket at the Bulldog Bash, going undefeated on the day, beating a good Kossuth team twice and taking out a much improved East Union squad for the tournament title. The defending 1A champs are going to be a problem in 2A this season.

Catching action at the New Albany volleyball Bulldog Bash today. Will post some thoughts here. First up: Ingomar’s Macie Phifer has about a dozen D1 basketball offers. She might be a better volleyball player than basketball. She brings the absolute THUNDER

When the dust settled, Amory is the 3A state champs. Back to back. The Panthers played every single game on the road after a tornado destroyed their field on March 24th. They battled. Lost first game of the state title series? Battled. Down 2-0 in the first inning. Battled. What a gritty bunch. Amory Strong, indeed. Congrats, Panthers.

East Union's Ethan Lamontagne beat cancer twice before he even finished his freshman year of high school. This February, he underwent surgery to remove a brain tumor, then had 6 weeks of radiation. He would leave treatment and head to the ball field a lot of times. Today he got into the game as a runner as his East Union Urchins won their 2nd straight state title. He is pictured here with East Union coach Chris Lucius, who himself battled cancer this year during the season. This title means a lot to this community for a lot of reasons. This exemplifies "Noone Fights Alone".

East Union has been a baseball school for a long time. They’ve won 4 titles in the last 8 years and have been knocking at the door most every other year. The playoff run the last 2 years has been dominant: 2 titles, 20-0, outscoring opponents 210-22. Truly the Gold Standard.
