@chalkbeatCHI @WBEZeducation @ChiPubSchools Second, @iagcgifted created model acceleration policies for districts to use. Additionally, Evanston is home to the Center for Talent Development, which knows acceleration policy better than anyone. CPS has plenty of resources at its disposal.

I've been vocal recently about the poor quality of reporting about advanced education. So I want to point out when a solid, well-crafted piece appears in the media, and this one struck me as fair and balanced. Kudos to @Public_Ade for a solid piece of reporting. @nagcgifted
There's a new law that requires Illinois districts to better identify, and challenge, gifted students at every school. @ChiPubSchools, where some gifted students are sorted out to test-in programs, is asking for a year extension to come up with a plan. chalkbeat.org/posts/chicago/…
