Fantastic news for QD community! Long-awaited and well-deserved award. So proud to be part of this community. My very first research project at the university was dedicated to the synthesis of these beautiful nanocrystals. Loved them from the first sight!
BREAKING NEWS The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the 2023 #NobelPrize in Chemistry to Moungi G. Bawendi, Louis E. Brus and Alexei I. Ekimov “for the discovery and synthesis of quantum dots.”
Building on this thread, Louis Brus has authored multiple papers over the years that stand out in my memory as moments that fundamentally shifted my mental picture of physical phenomena in materials. Some examples:
