I'll take this one Many of us feel that there is nothing that Black people can do to prevent white people from believing this nonsense A thread.

I've always wondered how Blacks and other POC who benefit from affirmative action feel about the perception some may have that their achievements — however fully earned — may be partially due to bias in favor of minorities. This is unhealthy for minorities and society at large.

@CalltoActivism I used to give stuff away but I found that a series of no-shows resulted. I started putting prices on things and every person showed up. (But then I decline to take their money.) wild!

@LakotaMan1 @TheRickWilson It’s already a crisis. Help wanted signs everywhere!

@CalltoActivism Lovely. You know what is even better? Ending poverty entirely.

@LakotaMan1 Never give in.

@newkingofmedia @lawofruby @MuellerSheWrote Because they are a smokescreen fit the foreign puppet master.

@ladyvictoria8 @CalltoActivism @hardknoxfirst Your opinion is only harmful. Keep it in your head next time.

“Well, today didn't go as we hoped but it's in the hardest of times we learn the best lessons and feel the most gratitude. Buffy was scheduled to have her teeth cleaned and removed today but Dr. Mac had a gut feeling she needed to look at some lab work before putting her under anesthesia. She was right: Buffy showed signs of advanced kidney failure so anesthesia was not an option and as a family we decided that the kindest and most loving thing to do would be to let her go before she lost her will to live and stopped eating and drinking. I wouldn't have dreamed of leaving Robbie out of this decision or not allowing him to be part of the entire process so I immediately went and picked him up from school. On the way there he told me he wanted to be the one to hold her when she went to heaven. And of course, I gave him that honor. On the way home I told him how proud I was of him for understanding the importance of caring for old animals and helping to make sure they never ever suffer. This is what he said...👇 (And for those of you who don't know, Robbie was adopted from the foster care system after years of severe abuse and neglect.) "I know how it feels not to be loved or cared for and I don't want any animal of mine to ever feel that way. It's only sad for us when they go to heaven. It's a happy day for them. Thank you for being proud of me. Are you ok, Mom?" From the mouths of babes. (As our story is being shared more and more I feel like I need to add a little more context and also give you a deeper glimpse into the heart of my son. We adopt senior dogs. Robbie LOVES adopting senior dogs. He is sadly aware the longer a child remains in foster care the less likely they are to be adopted. He told me once "if all you guys had wanted was a baby, you would have never gotten me." He relates to our "old people" (that's what we call our senior dogs) in much the same way. He has also reminded me on several occasions that it doesn't matter how long you have something for how much you love it. I asked him what he meant and he said “well you've only known me for two years but you love me like it's been forever.” Yes, my son is the coolest.)” Credit: Maria Henry Gay

@RonFilipkowski Fucking delusion little Nazi

Senator @ChrisVanHollen demands the Biden administration release a State Department report into the killing of Palestinian American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh last year, when an Israeli soldier shot her in the head. "I believe its release will help save lives going forward."

@BK_McCallum @MiaMia87217278 @notcapnamerica But it includes WATER

I can’t stop laughing at this. 😂

@gtconway3d What a darling dog.

@Ally_Sammarco Anhueser Busch owns both Bud & Modelo.

@JohnstonPilgrim @isaiahrmartin Do you need reading lessons? It says the POTUS did this.

You're seeing in real time how disinformation works. This is an outright, intentional lie from someone who knows better. Governor Abbott graduated from Vanderbilt Law, was a Supreme Court Justice in Texas, and was the Attorney General. He knows that Trump was not indicted by the DOJ or by President Biden, but by a grand jury of Floridians who heard the evidence presented and made a decision based on the rule of law. The DOJ or a President cannot 'indict' anyone at their whim. I'm sure this isn't the first time you've seen this claim on your feed today. This lie is the passed around talking point that's being pushed out to allied Senators, Members of Congress, and Governors to repeat over and over again in hopes folks don't know any better — to distract from the substance of the indictment. It is a distraction from an action that deserves no excuses. Unfortunately for all of them, lies only support a cracking foundation for so long.

It’s an ugly day for democracy when a sitting U.S. President running for re-election uses the Department of Justice to indict and arrest his leading opponent.

Today the SEC filed 13 charges against Binance, the world's biggest crypto exchange, over allegations that the company misled investors and misused customer funds. Let me remind you: Crypto is a giant Ponzi scheme that urgently needs to be regulated.

@valleylily56 @petersterne lol such jingoism!

@kenklippenstein Dip her gloves in blue chalk dust, then simulate her job. Soon every handle, phone, door edge was covered in minutes. She finally figured it out!

@kenklippenstein Rare to see back of house using gloves correctly. They all seem to think the gloves are worn to protect THEM from the food. Same in a medical clinic where I worked. People kept wearing gloves that they had just worn in a lab, handling body fluids. Mgr had the biggest offender…
