Finding undervalued businesses through fundamental analysis, FCF, margins & intrinsic value. Less hype. More research. Long-term thinking.facebook.com/groups/2316745… United StatesJoined September 2026
One of the hardest parts of value investing is knowing when NOT to buy.
A stock can be cheap and still be a poor use of your capital if better opportunities exist.
Sometimes the best decision is simply waiting for a better opportunity.
A stock falling 30% isn't automatically cheap.
The real question is: what changed?
If the business is still growing and generating cash, a lower price can create opportunity.
If the fundamentals changed, the lower price may simply be justified.
A great business isn’t automatically a great investment.
The business can keep growing while the stock delivers poor returns if you pay too much for it.
I try to separate two questions:
Is this a good business?
Is the current price reasonable?
Both matter.
FICO ($FICO ): one of the strongest moats in finance, but what price is too high?
It is deeply embedded in lending decisions, creating a very powerful competitive position.
Is FICO’s moat strong enough to justify the premium, or are investors paying too much for quality?
A falling stock price doesn’t automatically mean a cheaper business.
The important question isn’t “how much has the stock dropped?”
It’s:
“Has the value of the business changed, or only the market’s opinion?”
Great investing often starts with that distinction.
@MMatters22596 Netflix is a fascinating compounder to analyze. The chart may create an entry point, but the long-term thesis depends on pricing power, subscriber economics, and returns on content investment.
@FinanceJack44 FICO is a fascinating case where valuation and business quality are moving in opposite directions.
The key question: is the market pricing in a real moat erosion, or just temporary pessimism around a great business?
@VJNCapital APP is a fascinating growth story. The key question is whether the current growth and ad-tech advantage can remain durable as competition increases.
Great businesses can create value, but valuation and sustainability of growth are what matter.
@stevenfiorillo Oracle is an interesting case where the opportunity and the risk are closely connected.
Revenue growth has been strong, with Q1 revenue up 30% YoY, but the key question is whether heavy AI infrastructure spending translates into durable free cash flow and strong returns on capit
@MarcosMillaYT@stock_analysisx Price targets are one data point, but the bigger story with Uber is the business transformation.
The interesting question is whether improving margins and free cash flow can continue as the company matures.
@BourbonCap SPGI is a fascinating case study in quality businesses going through a period of pessimism.
The moat remains strong, but the key question is whether today’s challenges are temporary or a sign of a changing business.
@patientinvestor FICO is a great example of why moat and valuation both matter.
The business has a powerful position, but the question for investors is whether that quality is already reflected in the price.
@EdgeCGroup Good point. The investment case today doesn’t have to be the same as it was at the peak.
The key question is whether Nike’s current challenges are temporary or a sign that the business has fundamentally changed.
@NotA_Bull Interesting comparison. Falling stocks can create opportunities, but the key question is always the business, not the chart.
Is the company going through a temporary setback, or has the long-term thesis changed?
@MMatters22596 SOFI is an interesting case where investors are debating the gap between business performance and stock performance.
Growth and margin expansion matter, but the key question is always whether future expectations are already priced in.
@VJNCapital Amazon is interesting because AWS is not the only margin lever anymore. Advertising and retail efficiency add more upside to the story.
The big question is how much of the AI/cloud opportunity is already priced in across the major players.
@TheRonnieVShow The interesting part with Amazon is that the business is much more than e-commerce.
AWS, advertising, and logistics efficiency have changed the margin profile over time. The big question is how much of that future margin expansion is already reflected in the valuation.
@ValueSpectre This is what makes FICO’s moat interesting. It’s not just the score — it’s the ecosystem, trust, and industry acceptance built around it.
Switching costs can be powerful when they’re embedded into a whole workflow, not just a product.
Nike ($NKE ) is a great example of why investing is hard.
The brand remains one of the strongest globally, but investors debate if recent weakness is temporary or a sign of deeper issues.
Is Nike a great company through a rough patch, or is the moat weakening?
Thoughts?
@antibearthesis $AMZN looks inexpensive relative to its history, but valuation needs context.
AWS is growing rapidly, advertising adds high-margin revenue, and operating leverage remains substantial.
The counterpoint is ~$220B in annual capex; AI spending must translate into durable FCF growth
