Two men who rented “Yesterday” after seeing Ana de Armas in the trailer, only to discover that her role was removed in the final cut of the film, have settled their false advertising lawsuit. The two sued Universal in 2022, alleging that they were each cheated out of $3.99. A federal judge sided with them, finding that trailers are not immune from false advertising claims. But various setbacks followed, leaving the men on the hook for $126,705 in Universal legal fees. bit.ly/3w2PAIT
@Variety So i shouldn’t sue Dream Scenario for marketing itself as an uproariously funny comedy?
@Variety They're completely right. $4 won't kill them, but it's their $4. They thought they were getting Ana and they didn't, so fair is fair. Petty, but fair. 😂
@Variety I say *Nice try guys* 👏👏 Personally, I'd agree with them. Should we have to do that kind of homework before we see any movie?
@Variety Good. I hope these two guys go broke. Perhaps this will discourage frivolous lawsuits.
@Variety The sad thing is someone, I'm guessing them, is going to try to turn this into a movie.
@Variety Imagine being friends with these dorks. Have to cut them off right?
