# Dev Notes 1.0
I'm the main developer of VICE. I'll be using this series to keep you updated on what we're building, what's working and what's coming next as we work toward public launch.
### What we're building
We're building VICE for a future GTA VI multiplayer community, with community servers, creators and custom assets, similar to FiveM. For now, we're building and testing on FiveM.
### What's working today
We've already deployed asset passports, Creator Insights, server manifests, dependency analysis, update impact reports and Server Doctor. These help creators and server owners understand what's installed, how assets depend on each other and what an update could affect.
The request board is also working. Creators can propose work, agree on deliverables and record delivery confirmation, with a history of completed projects.
### The marketplace
We want people to have more to go on than screenshots and a sales page. The marketplace brings together asset discovery, observed use across servers, creator verification, compatibility evidence and reviewed links to creators' stores.
Payments and live offers are still disabled.
### VICE Originals
Originals is where we're setting up asset commissions, with rights, licensing and creator royalties documented from the start. Our first collection is one of the next things we'll be working on.
### What's next
Our next steps are getting real assets into the catalog, running pilots with creators and server operators, and putting together the first Originals collection.
GTA VI integration will depend on the tools and permissions that become available. Until then, we'll keep building on FiveM and sharing our progress here.
We have worked on the marketplace and will have a sneak peek, update of roadmaps for clarity, and dive deeper into our mission to build on top of GTA 6 integrated with VICE.

Gta 6 is about to create the biggest virtual economy in history. We are updating our infra by building the marketplace it trades on.
The idea:
Every roleplay server runs on assets — cars, properties, businesses, weapons. right now they're trapped. locked inside one server, worthless the moment it dies, owned by no one who actually grinded for them.
VICE changes that.
Our marketplace turns gta assets into synthetic onchain items you actually own. Buy them, sell them, trade them - all priced in $VI.
Your garage, your properties, your collection, living onchain instead of on someone else's database.
$VI becomes the currency of the whole thing. - the money an entire economy runs on.
Every trade moves through it. every transaction burns a cut. demand scales with the economy.
We spent a 4 months indexing every server in the scene. we know what players chase, what holds value, what an economy needs to survive.
Now we're building the place they trade it.
The data layer was step one. this is where it becomes a world.
Gta built the economy. We’re building the exchange. $VI
Here is a sneak peek into what were adding this VICE.
More news coming soon.
We're not guessing what makes a GTA server work.
We indexed every server that ever tried. the ones that lasted all did the same boring things right.
The ticker is $VI

Most GTA 6 servers will copy NoPixel and die. We're designing ours from player retention data, not from what looks good on stream.
Massive upgrades coming within the week.
GTA 6 drops november 19. ~7 weeks out. the biggest entertainment launch in history.
VICE is the first live, verifiable data layer for the GTA economy.
Indexing every roleplay server right now, populations, frameworks, trends, feeds - all posted onchain so anyone can verify it.
Vice has been running for 35 days with verifiable data through our API infra which anybody can build on for GTA 6.
Early isn't the risk, late is.

Some vice development updates:
- finalized the core economy loop for our GTA 6 server (earn → spend → sink), $VI as the unit
- locked qbcore as the framework
- onboarded another ex-GTA 5 server dev this week
- mapping onchain vs offchain: assets + identity onchain, live activity off
Onchain <> GTA mania is going to be crazy.
More soon.
People assume indexing GTA servers is easy. it's not. the FiveM master list blocks datacenter IPs, servers report inconsistent data, and none of it's structured for analysis.
The reason no data layer exists is that it's genuinely annoying to build.
So we built it.
Think about what you can't build on GTA right now because the data doesn't exist:
A live "which server should i join" app.
server owners seeing their own retention + peak hours.
prediction markets on server growth.
a coingecko for the whole scene.
None of it exists because nobody indexed the economy.
Vice did.
Here is what nobody's building: the layer underneath it.
thousands of GTA servers running real economies - currencies, jobs, markets, and zero infrastructure.
No data, no source of truth, no rails. builders are flying blind on the biggest game economy alive.
That's the gap.
GTA 6 is shaping up to be the biggest entertainment launch in history. but the game isn't the opportunity, what gets built on top of it is.
GTA 5 roleplay became a multi-billion-hour economy rockstar never built.
GTA 6 does it bigger. The builder wave is inevitable.
The dashboard is live.

Everyone’s watching GTA 6 as a game launch. builders should be watching it as an economic one.
Here’s the thing nobody’s pricing in: the real GTA economy isn’t the game, it’s what gets built on top of it. GTA 5 proved this. community roleplay servers turned a game into a persistent economy, currencies, jobs, property, thousands of independent markets running 24/7 for years.
Rockstar didn’t build it and barely monetized it. it emerged on modding, on PC, and it got huge.
GTA 6 repeats this at a bigger scale. but the timing is the part builders miss: roleplay lives on PC modding, and PC trails console by years.
The wave is inevitable and it’s on a clock everyone can see.
which raises the actual question: when thousands of servers are running real economies, what do they run on? every economy needs data (a source of truth), rails (currencies, assets, identity), and capital (funding + a market for builders). the GTA economy has none of these at the infrastructure level. it’s enormous and completely uninstrumented.
Whoever indexes, banks, and funds this economy captures value no matter which servers win. picks and shovels.
and the builders who start now, on the live GTA 5 economy, before 6 even lands are the ones positioned when it crests. the tools, the data, the standards get set early or not at all.
The game is the catalyst. the economy is the opportunity. and the infrastructure is still unclaimed.
That’s what we’re building at VICE.
Our indexer now decodes the full FiveM master list, every RP server, every few minutes, classified by framework + tracked as time-series.
Which means builders finally get an api for the whole GTA economy: rankings, discovery, server analytics, prediction markets.
Our new dashboard for monitoring this activity will be live soon.
