President of Student's Union in Lancaster, "I have students coming in saying they can't study because they haven't eaten in three days" Fiona Bruce, "People are telling you they haven't eaten in three days?" President, "I have hundreds of stories.. We have a food bank on campus.. We have a supper club where we give our free meals to over 100 students every Thursday... The only hot meal they'll have that week" "Students are the future of the economy.. If we can't eat, we can't study, if we can't afford our rent we can't live here.. The government does not prioritise students and it hasn't in the last decade" #BBCQT @LancasterSU @CerysEvans
@implausibleblog England only. Scotland looks after its students better, my son`s experience is testimony to that difference, 2k bursary, no tuition fees, food/lodgings loan at low interest, free bus, subsidised train travel, 10% off all his shopping for clothes, food, etc and more.
@WFHWORLD @implausibleblog And sadly Scotland is now bankrupt. Soon be knocking on the doors of Westminster with their begging bowl.
@WFHWORLD @implausibleblog England supplements this.........
@WFHWORLD @implausibleblog Is it really Scotland that looks after its students Or Westminster?? Another massively huge reason for England to have our own Referendum to give Scotland the fuckin boot! Just maybe if Scotland wasn’t leeching everything they can from us students in England would be better off!
@WFHWORLD @implausibleblog Yes my daughter will be in over 40k debt after her degree whilst her Scottish cousins will have none, but all potentially competing for the same jobs etc.
@WFHWORLD @implausibleblog Nope. It’s happening in Scotland too. I’ve worked in two different Unis in Scotland, over the past 18 months. This story is sadly not unusual.
