Bill requiring Tennessee school employees to report student's gender identity passes state legislature trib.al/h0ijky2
Instead of making sure children have food, or healthcare.. Instead of making sure teachers are properly paid, of that public schools have the resources they need -- this is what the tyrannical @tngop supermajority does with our tax dollars... Instead of working for ALL Tennesseans... they work for their own perverse gratification.
🚨 The Title is missing some context. Here is the full bill! “Local Education Agencies - As introduced, requires a request made by a student to an employee of the student's LEA or public charter school for an accommodation to affirm the student's gender identity to be reported to a school administrator and to the student's parent; prohibits an employee of an LEA or public charter school from knowingly providing false or misleading information to a student's parent regarding the student's gender identity or intention to transition to a gender that differs from the student's sex at the time of birth; authorizes civil actions to be filed by parents and by the attorney general and reporter against a noncompliant LEA or public charter school. - Amends TCA Title 49.” It basically prohibits an employee of a public school, or public charter school from hiding, or even lying to the parents, and the school administrator when a student requests for their gender identity to be “affirmed” I highly suggest reading the bill if you haven’t already. @WKRN Tennessee's new law on reporting gender identity, how will affect students?
@WKRN 👏👏👏👏👏 not telling the parents should be illegal. If the parent doesn’t ask, that could be a loop hole for them 😏 right??
@WKRN I wish a parent, principal, ISD or school, board or state WOULD ask me to do this. I'd write "I don't know because I spend my time teaching, it's not my business & it's not yours either." And sue if they tried to fire me. Trash.
@WKRN Focusing money and energy on this, meanwhile the potholes take over the roads. Priorities.
