@NewportCouncil @jessicamordenmp @JGriffithsLab With regards this flytipping hot-spot location, as it has had dozens if not hundreds of reports in the past,why can't things be put into operation to identify the culprits carrying out the flytipping, ie; CCTV? It wouldn't just catch them,but also the daily drug deals that go on.
@NewportCouncil @jessicamordenmp @JGriffithsLab More fly tipping at the corner of Halstead St. & Corporation Rd. Mattresses, several black bags, duvets, luggage & mtoys dumped at the community garden & its not the first time. Residents are getting disgruntle about it going on. 😠
@NewportCouncil ...that nothing is being done about it. Can't pass them on the pavement on 3 sides, need to enter the roads to get around them. Not good for parents with prams, wheelchairs, pedestrians etc. Blind corners. Total apathy from the authorities. Needs addressing ASAP. @gwentpolice
@NewportCouncil Just saw 2 of your parking attendants pass several vehicles, works vans, parked illegally on pavements & half on, half off pavements & double yellow lines on the corners of Halstead Street & Corporation Rd. It's been going for months now & residents are angry...
@NewportCouncil @gwentpolice @jessicamordenmp Have heard from residents that a local conviennce store on Corporation Rd & its owner have been robbed,reports of 11 & 12 yr old's pinching alcohol cans,crisps & other items,getting agitated when challenged. Not the first time either.
@NewportCouncil residents are asking if the council/LEA's are closing the schools over the next few days, because of the extreme heat warnings or is it down to individual school & their heads to decide? @southwalesargus @jessicamordenmp @JGriffithsLab @Lliswerryward ☀️🥵
@southwalesargus @BBCNews @gwentpolice @NewportCouncil @jessicamordenmp @WalesTS @WalesOnline @BBCWales @Lliswerryward Flytipping is becoming even more of a nuisance again at the same location for the residents. Several black bags, broken open, soiled nappies & more, evident. Please can this be addressed ASAP. Been going on for years & years. APATHY. @NewportCouncil @gwentpolice @jessicamordenmp
@southwalesargus @BBCNews @gwentpolice @NewportCouncil @jessicamordenmp @WalesTS @WalesOnline @BBCWales @Lliswerryward Another investigation, which residents believe this is going on in our @WardofVictoria, have been for going on for decades, sometimes in plain sight, esp at the corner of Corporation Rd & Halstead St. APATHY. @gwentpolice @jessicamordenmp @NewportCouncil bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
Wouldn't be surprised this going on in this Ward, there are 15+ shops on Corporation Rd., that sell vapes & at least 3 have been closed down. @NewportCouncil @gwentpolice @jessicamordenmp Crime network UK mini-marts is enabling migrants to work illegally. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
@gwentpolice @NewportCouncil @jessicamordenmp People in the community have said they live above the Switch vape shop on Corporation Rd & drives 3 vehicles with CZ plates from there (don't they need to change them)? If this is the case,then WHY isn't it being looked in to? @gwentpolice @NewportCouncil @jessicamordenmp #APATHY
@gwentpolice @NewportCouncil @jessicamordenmp The residents have questioned how this vehicle has yet again been ticketed for the umpteenth time & seems that no action is being taken with the owners. It's been going on for months, maybe a year or two, surely after the first few fines, something has to be done about it, pls.
I see that this vehicle has been booked again. That's the 5th or 6th time in the last few weeks & it was brought to our attention by residents,who said it's been driven & parked erratically by different people. Surely,this should be looked into more. @NewportCouncil @gwentpolice
It's not the first time events at the school, inc the head,have come to light, as like the comments to the piece, plus having staff in tears, afraid to say things, forcibly getting her own way, having her back covered by certain council members & much much more. Needs addressing.
This will be of concern from both boroughs. Surely a bit of discretion was needed, even just escorting the mother to the best place so SHE could change her child, was no need to call the police, a tad over the top. @NewportCouncil @jessicamordenmp @southwalesargus @Lliswerryward
Maybe of interest to residents of this Ward, as children do attend St.Andrews Primary school, even tho it's in the #LliswerryWard, being on Corporation Rd. Doesn't make for good reading. 'Newport mum claims son refused access to St Andrew's toilet' share.google/Rx6TqG1uiUnwxr…
@NewportCouncil It has been reported.
@NewportCouncil Will do it on behalf of the residents. Where did it all come from? It would've taken at least 2 people to do this, it's seems to be all connected & not from far away either. Was done after 9'ish last night until the resident put their bins out, towards 10.30pm. #Disgusting 😡
Have been sent a photo, by a resident, of flytipping on the corner of Halstead Street & Corporation Rd.,has only happened in the last hour or so. It's of a sofa, children's toys, chairs, a sheet with a lot of items inside, plus across the street are 2 mattresses & a divan bottom.
