I was against smith as well, but this was before the Pickens trade so now I don’t mind the extra firepower. He still has versatility to his game which is nice. He’s definitely going to play receiver snaps and on run plays being Darnell out

I don’t see Steelers playing smith every snap at TE, Miami occasionally played him at WR and had some slot reps. I’d probably expect Pittsburgh to do the same here. I like the versatility

The only positive to this trade is looking at all the capital Pittsburgh have next season… if they weren’t planning on paying Pickens during the off-season getting a 3rd from him isn’t bad value.
