@JessicaLBurbank deflock.me is a crowdsourced map of Flock cameras, if anyone wants to see just how many there are in your area.

@vodkalover52 She is b/c that’s the joke. The entire premise is a goofy high school AU for race horses from various decades. They throw in a line about her watching VHS b/c “her parents were broke” and “she lived out in the country”; it’s an old trope.

@Waterstarlight @YourNameIsAbi She’s like a younger cousin or sibling: her text invites are her stopping by to bum off your wifi or to take a nap on your couch.

@BonnieBarkswell Real answer: DMCA. Making your webpage into “software” means it becomes a felony to reverse-engineer it. Also “engagement”: keeping your attention on their product, rather than being able to close the tab and go somewhere else.

@idnalro Carlin was making jokes about the word “homeless” decades ago, iirc; something like “Home is a state of mind, these people need fuckin’ housing!”. “Unhoused” might come from a similar line of thought, perhaps

@kokoyunz Working for a school district in the US makes you a “Mandated Reporter”, legally required to contact CPS if they suspect abuse, let alone if a child tells them. This person not only helped hurt you, but broke the law to do so.

@bustelo4babies B/c there’s laws and codes about what constitutes an adequate living space. Malls/large retail were built to a different set of laws and codes. They weren’t designed to be lived in, they’re designed to hold products and move people through to buy them.

@SwampCommunist This kind of guy is why there’s 1.2 guns for every American: the “Spiders Georg” of gun owners. That’s several people’s entire retirement’s worth of guns.

@Takeo_26 @aicandii Astigmatism is when the eye is slightly “out of shape”, so bright lights gain this “starburst” effect. The longest parts of the starburst show the plane of astigmatism.

@KasiaHmura @theprovenwinner Anything that spins really fast has the possibility of horrifying injuries. The saw blade can “catch” on the wood and throw it like baseball in a pitching machine, either hitting you or pulling your hand holding the wood into the blade.

@Bricky Honestly I think the review was good; some people just can’t handle critique of media they like. You: “I’d like more justification for why some characters do things in the plot” Dumbasses: “Akshually that guy had on the Snapback of Honor, didn’t you read the lore?”
