Today marks the start of National Hispanic Heritage Month — a reminder that representation in coaching is still something that needs to change. Hispanic/Latino student-athletes make up 7% of NCAA rosters. Yet Hispanic/Latino coaches make up just 3% of head coaches. In other words, Hispanic/Latino athletes are represented at more than twice the rate of Hispanic/Latino head coaches. There's room — and reason — to close that gap. Tag a Hispanic/Latino coach and help amplify their journey.

Training the body is only half the job. The mind needs reps too. Dr. Megan Buning — pro softball player turned Certified Mental Performance Consultant — is showing coaches how to build essential mental skills that drive consistent, confident, high‑level performance for athletes of all levels. 🏆 Coach of the Month: Cindy Ball-Malone 🏆 Coach Cindy Ball-Malone led the Utah Talons to the 2026 AUSL Championship in her first season at the helm — the franchise's second straight title. A proven winner at every level, Ball-Malone brings 12 career seasons as an NCAA Division I head softball coach, the last eight leading UCF. During her UCF tenure, she's guided the program to eight postseason appearances, seven NCAA Tournament berths, and two NCAA Super Regional appearances.
