State policies were developed by PURA with no discussion with the IBEW (first responders/frontline workers during power outages). These policies will result in hundreds of CT first responders being put in unnecessarily dangerous work environments. bit.ly/3rvLhRW
Many of our IBEW Brothers and Sisters in CT are employed by Eversource, who has been targeted by PURA. We believe this is short-sighted as these highly trained men and women have dedicated their lives to working the frontlines of the electrical grid. weworkthegrid.com/get-involved/
As fellow Nutmeggers, we are asking for your help -- PURA and state legislators have made a deliberate attempt to remove our voice from discussions regarding Connecticut’s electrical future. weworkthegrid.com/#SignPetition
Eliminating work by Eversource also eliminates tax revenue for Connecticut as the utility is the state’s largest tax payer. weworkthegrid.com/problems/
State policies were developed by PURA with no discussion with the IBEW (first responders/frontline workers during power outages). These policies will result in a work environment that could potentially severely injure or kill Connecticut residents. weworkthegrid.com/#SignPetition
We believe PURA’s framework is an overreach that will jeopardize worker safety & grid security. State lawmakers need to do their due diligence & ensure policy actions don’t place our members in danger, strip CT workers of jobs or reduce state tax revenue. weworkthegrid.com/problems/
In looking at current policies, the IBEW in Connecticut sees several potential problems. We feel the rash actions of state legislators, spurred on by PURA, have enacted a series of policies with costly, or worse, potentially deadly problems. weworkthegrid.com/problems/
State policies were developed by PURA with no discussion with the IBEW (first responders/frontline workers during power outages). These policies will create a weakened electrical grid with less revenue for real improvements. weworkthegrid.com/#SignPetition
By letting out-of-state third parties complete work to replace traditional electrical distribution, control and ownership of these projects is stripped from electrical utilities like Eversource. weworkthegrid.com/problems/
We are asking for Connecticut’s family of first responders, to stand with us and demand the voice of frontline workers be heard by state lawmakers & PURA. We believe this is a fight not only to preserve our jobs, but also our very safety in the field. weworkthegrid.com/#SignPetition
State policies were developed by PURA with no discussion with the IBEW (first responders/frontline workers during power outages). These policies will result in reduced taxes paid by the state’s #1 tax-paying entity, passing tax burden onto state residents. bit.ly/3ovQneT
The IBEW CT respectfully asks of our elected officials: Don’t risk our lives (or safety) for your political gain. weworkthegrid.com/problems/
We’re the IBEW in Connecticut, and we are your friends, family and neighbors. Our organization is made up of local CT residents and taxpayers, employed by Eversource and other electrical contractors, to keep your lights on and power to your home 24/7. weworkthegrid.com/ibew/
State policies were developed by PURA with no discussion with the IBEW (first responders/frontline workers during power outages). These policies will result in a reduction in the amount of work performed by CT residents on infrastructure projects. bit.ly/3rvLhRW
Why has PURA chosen to ignore safety benchmarks in favor of a single, arbitrary deadline placed on the shoulders of IBEW Linemen? It is very possible CT residents could be severely hurt or killed as a direct result of this ill-advised and rushed action. bit.ly/3rvLhRW
By creating a system that will likely cut us out of work by using non-wire alternatives, IBEW members in Connecticut will lose jobs to out-of-state contractors and their less experienced workforces. Want to do something about it? Sign the petition now! bit.ly/3rvLhRW
Rather than working with CT’s electrical workers to improve our state’s energy grid, current plans create a system that encourages out-of-state contractors to underbid improvement projects and use less experienced workers. We think that is a problem. bit.ly/3pnmY60
Believe us, we’re Connecticut electrical ratepayers too. When power is out due to a storm, we want the power back on as much as you do. Marissa Gillette and PURA are putting CT residents in a work environment that could severely injure or kill us. bit.ly/3dcNYzh
To create a more affordable and reliable electrical grid, we fear state lawmakers may be doing the opposite for Connecticut taxpayers. Learn more and sign our online petition: bit.ly/3dcNYzh
We believe the state’s current plans for our electrical grid will strip Connecticut residents of their jobs, as well as create greater safety risks for us at work. Please help us have a voice in our future by signing this petition: bit.ly/3rvLhRW
