Weekly Install @WeeklyInstallPB

@Run_TheDamnBaII Wing-T might be the original "one base, everything protects it" offense. Lots of formation tags, same handful of plays. Kids get a ton of reps on very little.

@Spread_Offense Counter to counter is the tax on a defense that flows hard to the pullers. Build the reverse off your base and the line doesn't learn anything new.

@fornekdf This is why counter and jet marry so well. Line blocks counter, the backers have to respect the pullers, and now the edge is one-on-one. Same look up front, different answer.

@PaceNSpace2 Tackle over is a great way to get another hat on counter. Same pullers, same rules, and the defense has one more gap to fit. Perfect if you've got a sixth lineman who can move.

What's your base? Counter, zone, power, Air Raid, whatever you hang your hat on. The full breakdown is in today's Weekly Install. Free every Sunday for HS offensive staffs: weeklyinstall.beehiiv.com/subscribe

Play-action: a lot of defenses read the uncovered lineman. Pull your guard and that read screams counter. Backers come downhill, ball goes over them. One base. Everything else is an accessory to it. That's an identity.

Two weeks of counter. You've got the base and the rules against any front. Now the big picture. Pick who you are. Then build everything else to protect it. 🧵

@CoachCFish @McConaughey One take. Friday night comes once a week. Appreciate you running the chat every week, Coach.

@PaceNSpace2 Screens are the tax for flying to your run game. Same picture up front, the ball goes where they just left.

@offensive_guru Love seeing counter live in the single wing. Different backfield, same rules up front. That's why it travels to any level and any personnel.

@TheLastFullback Four touchdowns off the same play and formation. That's an identity. Keep running it until somebody proves they can stop it, then hit them with the answer off the same look.

If your play-action doesn't look like your base, it's just a pass with a fake. Major in counter? Pull the backside guard and tackle like counter. Backers reading the guard come downhill. Ball goes over their heads. Same pullers. Different answer. Who's got a good counter PA?

Quick one for OL coaches running GT counter: Your pullers never change. BSG kicks the EMLOS, BST wraps for the play side backer. The front only changes who the play side works down on. Teach the rule, not the look. What's your answer when they bring a backer off the edge?
