It's snowing in DC!!!

Final 2 miles of training today. 40 degrees, raining, snow an hour west. Next tweet should be about split times in the MCM. Stay tuned.

Picked up bib at MCM expo. Cold weather gear flying off the shelves. I trained in 100 degrees and the race is going to be 30s/40s.

To MCM Expo today to pick up bib. Then to Salvation Army for coat, hat, sweatshirt that can be discarded in an unsexy marathon striptease.

4 miles midweek. 4 days to go until MCM. Yep, I could win this thing.

Easy, slow 3 miler tonight at my dog's pace, which included stopping often to sniff other dogs' butts. No training was done tonight

5 days to go until the MCM. Impossible not to obsess. 4 months of training and it comes down to 3 hrs. So many things can go wrong or right.

Ran last 8 miler pre-marathon. Pushed the pace to 6:57/mile. Loosely translates to 3:19 marathon at 7:37/mile. Could happen...

Last Saturday run. 5 miles. One extra just because I could. Marathon pace has become 7:15/mile. We'll see...

4 miles this morning in perfect running weather. I'm ready.

Mid week 6 miler with little aches and pains. Philosophical questions like did I train enough, will I crash at mile 18, what socks to wear?

4 miles today, no watch, no headphones, no hat....thank god I remembered shorts. Awkward and boring.

Last run over 10 miles today. Felt great. Will run marathon close to 3:20 at this pace. Not sure how realistic that is. 27 min improvement?

Great 5 miles today. Felt like I could have run 50 more. Like hitting a 275 yd drive down the middle on 18...it keeps me coming back.

Am re-reading Born to Run to get in the right frame of mind for the final stretch of training. Run easy, light and smooth...fast will come.
