Emissions pay in a token, and the APY is calculated off that token's current market value. Compound ran $12 billion in TVL in November 2021 and $2.2 billion a year later. Real world asset yield comes from short term rates, so it does not compress when leverage demand does. wisdomtreeprime.com/blog/onchain-y…
Three things get called onchain yield and they have almost nothing to do with each other. Lending pays out of what borrowers pay, so the rate compresses when leverage demand does. In 2022 stablecoin borrowing rates fell sharply even as the Fed rate was rising.
