@rlrossi64 @JonathanFoster2 @Lorrainep1957 This is what I’ve found with my 7 year old. His diagnosis of autism was confirmed a few weeks into lockdown. He’s been the happiest I’ve ever known him to be without having to go to school. He’s not having meltdowns, no physical aggression, and isn’t chewing his hands/clothes.

@rlrossi64 @Lorrainep1957 Absolutely - many of our ASD students are LOVING being at home and thriving working remotely and sending work in. They are positive in their online communications with staff etc

@WorksSend This is so hard, I have noticed it with a few of my very young pupils rather than the older ones. With our phonics classes, we have cut down how many we were offering, as some parents were overdoing it and the kids were getting overwhelmed.

@WorksSend @leoniedelt It’s definitely hard for some at the moment. I haven’t got a panacea but we are finding some improvement when I have a regular 1:1 with a pupil online to check in. Also supporting/being with parents too, who are finding it challenging & not wanting to ‘stand over’ their child.

@JodieSmitten @WorksSend If it's any help to give you comfort. She now is sitting her GSCE's. Doing better than I thought she would. It's a fight, but one worth taking on. Never stop believing, even when others do.

@WorksSend @gdmorewood All of those. Also, the environment is low-arousal compared to a busy classroom. Not much background noise. I take care not to present her with overlapping demands.

@WelshHT @WorksSend I have two autistic students who are flourishing at home and getting much more work done. It's that they can run their own timetable, work at their own speed, completely regulate their environment. Part of our return and recovery plan is thinking how we can replicate some of this

@WorksSend Zero resilience that adults other than us can’t cope with as he loses his temper but home is safe and therefore even though he gets cross, it is manageable. He has attachment disorder and ADHD.
