@NextScience This is why AI is no where near AGI or whatever nonsense they want to call it. It requires substantially more energy and can't even model a fraction of human complexity.
🧠 YOUR BRAIN MAY BE COMPUTING IN A WAY WE NEVER EXPECTED What if consciousness isn't created by neurons working one at a time—but by **waves moving through your brain?** A new theory from MIT neuroscientists suggests that traveling brainwaves may help coordinate billions of neurons, creating constantly changing patterns linked to our thoughts, actions, and conscious experience. The surprising part? Researchers propose that these brainwaves may perform something similar to **analog computing**—where waves interact, strengthen, or cancel each other to rapidly organize brain activity. It could help explain how the brain performs enormous amounts of computation while using only about **20 watts of energy**, roughly the power of a dim light bulb. Source: Miller, E. K., et al. (2026). Analog cognition and consciousness. The Journal of Neuroscience.*
@dr_mcgilchrist On a mathematical level, humans are non-linear beings while current AI are no more than linear models. They may be able to model human activities in narrow, well-defined domains but they aren't even close to human cognitive complexity, nevermind the "soul" question.
