Baldurs gate 3 is definitely a good example of it, though from what I understood AW2 wasn't profitable for a good year or so and Wolverine, as a recent example, has been dubbed "barely passable slop" with a sky-high budget they have yet to make back, if they ever will. Though it also depends on what's counted as "woke" as well. A gay person in a fantasy/modern setting is pretty lukewarm, hell even putting coloured characters in a medieval setting isn't that frowned upon anymore as long as its fantasy/non-historical. It's when things are put in for obvious pandering (eg. Tash "I'm non-binary" Veilguard) without actually considering if it fits or not that is the issue, though that is part of the bigger "bad writing" category as well for that matter In the end its the average players that need to be catered to for success, and so far in the 2020s it's kinda been on a decline in favour of telling stories they would like themselves, the results will evidently speak for itself wether the studios will live or die by those choices eventually

I'd say it's definitely part of the issue, though non-compelling gameplay and abhorrent writing tends to go hand in hand with it so it's not the biggest deal breaker. The saying: "putting in woke content doesn't make a good game better, but it'll definitely be a force multiplier to the downfall of a bad game" is rather apt.

Only game worthwhile to play with buddies nowadays tend to be either friendslop games that get boring after 1 day of playing or grinding FPS/MOBAS games like Wardogs/League where group/team play is incentivised Couch-Coop isn't fully "dead" yet, but in comparison to before the 2010s(or late-90s) it's niche as hell because everyone is online these days Add to it that there's really not any single player games worth that specific enjoyment anymore (switching player when you die, that is) and you've got to where we are today

Most corporate and local models are vetted for it in a manual process, though you're still able to use about 10-20% AI images in a dataset and it keeps coherency. It is a phenomenon you can reach if you go in fully using AI without any base images for comparison though, you're right, just that no one does that without severely misunderstanding how it works or just doesn't care
