Noone gets £1000s on PIP. I have never met ANYONE whose disability costs are completely covered by PIP. Disability is expensive. PIP is not an out-of-work benefit. It is a disability-makes-life-expensive benefit to level things out just a bit.

My twin sister died on the 9th April . aged 67 . She had followed the #WASPI Campaign with the hope of being compensated .It would have made a huge difference to her having her OAP at 60 instead of 66. The stress and worry she didn’t need being disabled . Totally unacceptable.

Since my twin sister died earlier this month l have found that majority of companies although they have dedicated #bereavement teams are not #inclusive .I have had huge issues being #dyslexic with #dyscalculia . Needs discussion in #CPGs #Disability #dyslexia #inclusion #anxiety

The Stage 1 Debate of my bill - Abortion Services (Safe Access Zones) (Scotland) is starting now. I am proud to have the support of MSPs from all parties, and hope that we can all stand together to send the strongest possible message.
Congrats @GillianMacMSP for getting the Safe Access Bill to Stage 1. It wouldn’t have been possible without the courageous campaign led by @backoffscotland and the support of many, including crucially @scotgov. I’ll vote for it tonight and urge all MSPs to back it at Stage 1.

Noone gets £1000s on PIP. I have never met ANYONE whose disability costs are completely covered by PIP. Disability is expensive. PIP is not an out-of-work benefit. It is a disability-makes-life-expensive benefit to level things out just a bit.

For those who don’t know much about PIP, the eligibility criteria are extremely high & difficult to meet. It is also, crucially, not an out-of-work benefit but a way of meeting some of the myriad additional costs disabled ppl face incur due to our inaccessible & hostile society
Our disability benefit system hasn’t been reviewed in over a decade. We want to make sure it’s fit for the future, with enhanced support for those who need it most and better value for the taxpayer.

Totally agree . We went to mandatory reconsideration for my middle son a horrendous experience degrading and upsetting . PIP was removed we appealed he is on the lowest grade , he should be on the highest he has been left traumatised by the whole experience . #PIP #Disabilities
