2) They will be transferred to a substantive unit then transferred back to this new support unit. In either case, it will require an actual transfer of each and every RCMP member in Surrey. The RCMP has not done forced transfers in over 30 years. Now the crazy part 2/6
The RCMP will likely have to seek volunteers from anywhere in Canada before considering a forced transfer, including on short term secondments to the support unit (ie for periods of 30 days). This could mean the city is on the hook for the round trip flight... 3/6

I think we are about to find out that the "red working for blue" isn't the real issue, it is the matter of actual bums in seats, and where do they come from. You are not going to be able to force the current Surrey RCMP members to stay, and the RCMP will provide bodies. 5/6
@YVRSerpico This entire thing is conceptual. @mikefarnworthbc stated the mechanism (logistics/plans) need to be worked out . A lot of smoke and mirrors by him. That’s why he limited questions from the media.
