My heart is breaking for these workers and their loved ones. Too many of the loudest voices out there demonize immigrants, but it's these newcomers working the most dangerous, thankless jobs. It shouldn't take a catastrophic bridge collapse to recognize their humanity.

If you know anyone in the city's immigrant community who needs help or just someone to talk to, please let them know about @GlobalRefuge's Baltimore Welcome Center. globalrefuge.org/who-we-are/whe…
@Young25Tim My first thought when learning of bridge worker casualties. ‘Immigrants get the job done’ throughout American history - but at great cost to the bodies & lives of too many. We cant ignore our daily reliance on the labor we all rely upon from hardworking immigrants @CASAforall
@Young25Tim How can we support these families?
@Young25Tim This is so heartbreaking! Praying for their families
@Young25Tim Some Baltimore history about the port, tragedy and immigrants. On August 13, 1894 my 3rd G-Grandfather John Behm was drowned as he was loading cargo in the Port of Baltimore. John was an immigrant working hard to achieve the American dream. My heart goes out to all the families.
@Young25Tim Union? License? Insurance? I certainly hope so.
