@ManCityzenscom Around 2010, soccer was on ESPN weekend mornings so I decided to pick a team to follow. Found out there was a guy with my exact name on City so said that's it, I'm a City supporter. Even got a signed England shirt of his. It's not as valuable as I thought it might be one day.

@elonmusk Algo for sporting events needs improvement. Click on an NBA game to see highlights and relevant tweets. Recently, most the highlighted tweets are bots spamming links to game streams.

@WorldWideWob 38 years of Kings fandom had me ready to accept the relegation to NBA TV.... Mama we made it!

@lou_jug @DavidSacks My original point is that these are some of the biggest brands in the world and Blue is a new product with a lot of uncertainty at this point. Big brands are never early adopters so it seems logical that they would take a wait and see approach.

@lou_jug @DavidSacks Fair point. I assumed that’s not the only way to run targeted ads like that but could be wrong. Lebron is a good example though. What organization gets to claim him? Lakers? The NBA? Nike? Klutch Sports?

@lou_jug @DavidSacks There's plenty of snark in the other replies so I'll be earnest here. Do you really not understand why the Lakers, for example, get no value from what you just described?

@DavidSacks David, if one of your portco's wasn't gaining traction with its target market (say, media orgs or talent agencies) and those orgs consistently said it was bc the product wasn't useful for them, what would you advise them to do?

@GritsLumpy @dylan_dethier Partner has a short chip from right off the green and asks you to tend the pin. Blades it right into your shins.

@DavidSacks God this is so dumb. Information about a plane can, by definition, never be PII. GPS of a plane lets you identify the plane. It doesn't identify who is on the plane, even if it is privately owned. Think the plane's never flown somewhere without Elon on it? x.com/DavidSacks/sta…

David Sacks @DavidSacks

Root cause of the problem is that the government violates its own PII policy by streaming GPS coordinates of private planes. This is nuts given the increasing prevalence of GPS-guided weapons.

@greg_price11 You'd think a "digital strategist" would know that pain avoidance is a stronger motivator than pursuit of pleasure. Doesn't matter if nobody likes them, very few HATE them and that's what motivates action. Trump won bc ppl hated HRC. Biden bc of the hate for Trump.

@rsankarz @gabriel_samfira @Austen This is mainly the catch-22 of competing for high end tech talent in the Bay Area. Most companies at the top end of the market offer very generous perks like this. Less perks offered, less top of market ENG talent you’ll get.

@elonmusk Idea: Let us experience someone else's timeline. Like, I want to see what your feed looks like so add a tab that would allow me to see tweets like I was following the same 130 accts you follow (public ones only, obvi) without actually following them all.

@MorganOMedia @SDJ_WI @Jessicalessin @toomanybarnabys The ad revenue is paid to YouTube. So YouTube does not take a cut from creators, they share a cut with creators.

@Gergin_Ogrenci @asthmaticlizard @FilmstoFilms_ What’s really vanished are the films in the $30M-$60M range. Everything greenlit is either small budget (lower risk) or blockbuster franchises.

@Gergin_Ogrenci @asthmaticlizard @FilmstoFilms_ Superhero films are a symptom. Studios historically kept ~80% of DVD revenue. With that gone, the only way to make it up is films w/ global box office appeal. Avengers can make $ everywhere. Little Miss Sunshine can’t, so it doesn’t get made.

@yourpalhalsays @NC_Optimist @ZaidJilani Only a small % of visually impaired are fully blind. Majority have some level of sight. With this intro (name, clothes color, where they are) someone who only sees blurry shapes/colors can now match a voice to each shape.

@seospider @NateSilver538 If you're unfamiliar with NPS scores. Apologies for wasting 10 seconds of your day with that analogy lol

@seospider @NateSilver538 Agree with this. I look at it like NPS scores. Only ppl that effect change in others are "promoters" (9 and 10 scores). Being a promoter seems like a prerequisite in media on the right. Most media being "left-leaning" isn't going to pull anyone to the left. Those are passives.
