Data centres, AI and semiconductors are too simple for investors. Why make them complicated?
Follow the fractal pattern (Shilpa Medicare detailed article, earlier this year). Extrapolate EBITDA into cash flow after working-capital adjustments, then assess the reinvestment runway.
If an entity has growing, positive cash flow and incremental ROIC >20%, it can create enormous wealth even when the starting valuation is reasonable, not cheap.
Believe it or not 2 of my best returns in portfolio came from stocks dumped and written off- Zomato (eternal) at 40, Paytm at 400.
I don’t agree buying against winds doesn’t work when cos hold value.
I don’t agree bhav bhagwan che as bhav is only a bait
I don’t agree buying stocks at 52 w lows doesn’t work- it’s crap
I don’t agree that stocks hitting highs are the place to be- depends on growth
I don’t agree you can buy and hold forever
I don’t agree that leaders are evergreen
I play a game of high probabilities and high possibilities in the field of investing.
I try to buy quality small caps and mid caps available at 40-50% discount. Secondly try to allocate at least 5% of the capital.
Give those companies multiple years to perform, wherever I succeed, I make huge money and wherever I fail, I lose very less money. That’s it.
China is building as many nuclear reactors as much of the rest of the world combined.
I see it as an industrial capacity story.
China is building the electricity supply before the next wave of demand hits: AI data centers, semiconductor fabs, EVs, batteries, robotics and advanced manufacturing.
AI is turning electricity into a strategic input.
And China seems to understand something the market is still underappreciating:
Compute without power is just stranded silicon.
The real AI race may increasingly be a race for reliable electricity.
The strangest thing about having a kid is that you suddenly have a physical extension of yourself out there in the world. When they feel joy, you feel joy. When they feel pain, you feel pain. But unlike with yourself, you aren’t really in control of what they experience. And if you try to be, it probably won’t work out all that well. So it really is the ultimate test of faith. Just letting go and trusting that you’ve prepared them for whatever they’ll face. Or that they’ll learn to adapt to it. Terrifying in a lot of ways. But enormously gratifying, too. Nobody really teaches you how to navigate it. And there’s nothing else like it in your life.
Nobody tells you this: 99% of success is just the ability to outlast uncertainty. The one who can tolerate the most uncertainty is the one who will eventually win.
The true measure of wealth is not what you can afford to buy, but what you can afford to walk away from.
Real wealth is the freedom to make choices without fear of financial ruin - The ability to leave a stressful job, endure a health emergency, or start a new business.
Not just promoters and existing investors, these days IPOs are making colleges/educational institutions rich - A trend I would love to see increase!
IIT Madras is set to raise Rs 112 Cr through the IPO of Indo-MIM, a leading precision engineering components manufacturer. The IPO opens tomorrow
Indo-MIM founder Krishna Chivukula, A 1970 MTech alumnus of IIT Madras, had gifted a 1% stake in the company to the institute, which is now being partially monetised through the IPO
Amazing!

Major cheat code for life: The ability to recognize things that don’t matter. The world will pressure you to care about every single thing. To chase every problem. To take every slight personally. To have opinions on everything. Reject that trend. Focus on a few, ignore the rest.

Major life hack: Don't complain, ever. Nobody likes a complainer. They drain the energy of everyone around them. It's exhausting spending time around someone who constantly complains about things outside their control. If it's within your control, go do something about it. If it's not, you're just wasting energy thinking about it. Complaining gives too much power to the thing. Take back that power.
"You cannot treat a 15-year-old talent like a musical chair!" — Ravi Shastri absolutely fires up the commentary box after Vaibhav Suryavanshi gets dropped for the 5th T20I🚨😡🗣️
"Listen, if you are going to pick a 15-year-old boy based on an insane IPL season and throw him straight into English conditions against Jofra Archer, you have to be ready to back him through the storms! You cannot treat a generational talent like a game of musical chairs—dropping him after scores of 14, 13, and 15 makes no sense. International cricket is a different beast, the short-ball parameters are harsh, but how is he supposed to adapt if he's looking over his shoulder after every single failure? You either give the kid a secure 10-match rope to absorb the pressure, or you don't expose him to this level so early!"
Angry? 💢👿🤬😤😠🗯️😖😡
Pause. Always pause.
The most expensive decisions of my life were made in moments of anger. And the best ones came after I waited.
Anger feels like power. It’s actually the opposite, it’s you handing control to someone else.
When you react, you lose. When you respond, you lead.
So before you send that message, make that call, say that thing you can’t take back
Pause until you can think clearly.
Rational always beats impulsive. Every single time.
There was a cab driver in Delhi who dreamt every day of becoming an army man. He finally made it on his third attempt & was assigned to the J & K Rifles. Within a year he was in Kargil and there was a war on. On this day, 26 years ago, Rifleman Sanjay Kumar volunteered to lead an attack on Point 4875 in the Mushkoh Valley. When they were pinned down by machine gun fire, Sanjay Kumar jumped out and charged. He took a couple of bullets, reached the bunker, killed all three inside, and then turned their machine gun on the rest of the bunkers and fleeing enemy troops. He was awarded a Param Vir Chakra, one of only seven living winners.
