I remember when I first started editing, I thought all I needed to get clients was to be good at my craft and have a nice portfolio. But I later learned it takes more than that. You have to put yourself out there and market your skills , talent alone isn’t enough 💯.

One thing I wish I knew earlier as a video editor is that learning never ends. I once thought I’d know it all one day, but every project proves there’s always more to learn. Now I see it as a journey, not a race and I enjoy the process so much more.

One thing I’ve come to realize is that, as an editor, our focus at first is often on creating fancy animations and effects. But as your skills grow, it becomes less about the visuals and more about telling a story that truly connects.Because Storytelling > Fancy edits. Always.💯

I got stuck on an edit recently. I knew exactly what I wanted in my head , but I just couldn’t make it work. Then I paused… and actually planned my edit. We don’t talk about this enough, but taking time to plan before you edit can save you hours. Trust me, it works.
